Filling Your Cup

Insta-Blog

Making time in my schedule to have coffee with a girlfriend = priceless time spent. I just love when you can sit down with a friend, truly be yourself and pick up like you haven’t skipped a beat. In those moments, it seems like you could sit for hours talking about anything and everything – but life and schedules do not allow it. Sometimes it is a bummer to be an adult w responsibilities. But while you are there, you feel your soul being refilled and your spirits lifting. Then I wonder, why don’t I do this more often??? Why don’t I make this more of a priority???

Life is so much better when you surround yourself with a tribe of solid women.

Women who you can take your “mask” off with and be 100% authentic. And they still love you, with all your faults, bumps and imperfections. And more importantly, they cheer you on. They cheer you on, no matter what is going in their life. They pray for you when you need it and sometimes when you do not even realize you need that prayer. As Sarah Bessey states, “the best friends are those that are hair petting and ass-kicking.” (BTW – if you haven’t read Sarah Bessey’s latest book. READ IT IMMEDIATELY. Ahhhhhmazing)

So when the time comes to drink the last drop of my coffee, pay the tab and give a hug goodbye to my sweet friend – I always like to say “till next time” instead of goodbye. Because I know how important the “next time” is for our souls & friendship.

When is the next time you are filling your cup up with a sweet friend?

You won’t regret that time spent. I promise you.

Christmas Eve 2020 Christmas Eve 2020
Good news! Heck, I think we all can use some goo Good news! Heck, I think we all can use some good news these days. And here it is! JOY is coming our way. Even better!!! We need JOY surrounding us this year. But what I love the most about this verse is it goes on to say “You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” The King of Kings will be found in a simple barn in hay. I love it because it truly shows us the greatest of joy can be found in the simplest of things. I hope you find great JOY today no matter where you are.
This year has changed our ways in so many facets. This year has changed our ways in so many facets. Our ways of doing life are entirely different. What we can do and what we cannot do. And now - our Christmas celebrations might look different this year. Who is coming or more importantly, not coming to gather this year. What is being served to celebrate or where you are going to celebrate - That might all look different. But one thing that this year cannot change for us - is our ability to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. THE reason we celebrate Christmas!!! The reason you are celebrating Christmas, can NEVER be changed. It is a constant and solid foundation to the Holiday of Christmas. So as we start our celebrations in the next few days, I encourage each of us to not focus on the change of the holiday….But focus on what we are celebrating. Celebrating our one true savior. The one who was given to us to bring us life. He is Wonderful, Mighty, Everlasting and a Prince of Peace. I have to say….these are four adjectives that I want around as we close out this crazy year. I think we all need Peace this Holiday Season. I know I do.
